Bleeding Heart

Spring always stirs up tender memories for me, and none more vivid than the image of the bleeding heart bush that bloomed beside my childhood home. This scrapbook page is a tribute to those delicate blossoms and the love my mother had for them—especially her favorite, the bleeding heart. My page is set against soft pinks and sentimental touches, it captures a piece of my past that still blooms in my heart every year.

This page makes use of a layout template from Sahin Designs over at digitalscrapbook.com

The Fieldnotes #2 Digital Scrapbook Bundle by Marisa Lerin is bursting with playful elements, bold patterns, and a vibrant color palette that ranges from soft pastels to deep, saturated hues. For my “Bleeding Heart” page, I was especially drawn to the beautiful pinks scattered throughout the kit—they echoed the delicate blooms of the flower and the tender memories I was capturing. The florals, heart elements, and whimsical touches from the bundle added just the right emotional warmth and charm to bring the story of my mother’s favorite bush to life.

A few other touches used:
A delicate white stitching brush was applied to the diagonal lines—just enough to enhance the layout’s flow without stealing focus from the photos.
I used a glitter pattern to highlight the photo stroke, adding a subtle shimmer that draws the eye to the image.

Let's Talk Pockets

There’s something beautifully grounding about capturing just one week at a time. That’s the heart of my weekly pocket scrapbooking—or Project Life—journey.  Every week, I create a single page filled with photos, little moments, and memories that might otherwise slip through the cracks.  By the end of the year, these weekly glimpses come together like puzzle pieces to form a photo book—my own “year-in-review” photobook of love, laughter, and life. I was first inspired by the grand master of memory-keeping magic herself, Marisa Lerin from DigitalScrapbook.com.  Her creativity and encouragement sparked this habit, and now I can’t imagine my weeks without this small act of reflection and joy.

If you’re thinking about jumping in, start by collecting the essentials: pocket layout templates, date card templates, and your favorite kits and bundles. Whether you’re a seasoned scrapper or just getting started, this project is pure joy—one week at a time.

My favorite tool for digital scrapbooking is Adobe Photoshop—it’s powerful, versatile, and perfect for creating clean, custom pocket pages. The best part? They offer a free trial, so you can test it out and see if it’s a good fit before committing.

Until next time, scrap your story, share your heart, and always be kind.

Week 19

Week 19 had it all—graduations, exotic travel, mushroom hunting, and napkin fashion statements! Raveyn kicked things off with a preschool cap and gown moment fit for a red carpet, then turned right around and invented haute couture with a yellow napkin hat. Meanwhile, Tuxie the cat took up gardening (or baby-sitting?) in my flower pot, and I had to go full mushroom bouncer in the yard to keep curious grandkids safe from a very suspicious-looking fungus. Marissa was enjoying the beautiful days playing outside with her bubbles and Tux.  Jessica cruised off to the Bahamas-must be nice!-leaving the rest of us to hold down the fort with Sunday Supper and kitchen cleanup.  Just another delightfully unpredictable week in the scrapbook of life!

Whispers

This scrapbook page was inspired by a beautiful layout I saw from a fellow member on DigitalScrapbook.com. Their design sparked my creativity, and I felt drawn to create something with a similar patchwork, layout. It was a joy to take that inspiration and make it my own, blending textures and elements to reflect the beauty I felt when I first saw her work.  I loved it so much, I couldn’t resist putting my own spin on it.  Or, CASE (Coppy and Share Everything) for us creative folks.  I have a Major shoutout to Kabra Langen at digitalscrapbook.com  the original creator.  Below is my interpretation...

This scrapbook page is a beautifully composed tribute to "Grace," featuring a harmonious blend of blue, white, green, and floral patterns that evoke a sense of serenity and joy. At the center is a soft-toned, artistic image of a girl in a floral dress, framed with stacked photo mats and surrounded by layered paper flowers, butterflies, and leaves. Diagonal patchwork sections of polka dots, geometric, and daisy prints add a charming quilt-like effect. Embellishments like tags, tickets, and buttons enhance the layout’s texture and depth. A small journaling tag near the bottom left reads, "Whispers in the flowers, peace among the blooms, grace in every glance," encapsulating the page’s gentle, reflective mood. The word "GRACE" is prominently displayed in a cut-out alpha, reinforcing the theme of elegance and spiritual calm.

I decided to break down Kabra's page and create my own layout template in Photoshop. It was like solving a creative puzzle, figuring out shapes, layers, and angles. And now I’ve got a custom template ready for scrapping. CASE-ing at its finest: a little bit of theirs, a little bit of mine, and lot of fun!

This digital scrapbook kit is packed with charm and creativity! With a mix of playful patterns, rich textures, and thoughtfully designed elements, it’s perfect for telling your stories in a fun and expressive way.  Whether you're scrapping everyday memories or capturing special moments, this kit brings warmth, color, and a touch of whimsy to every page.  This digital kit came from GingerScraps and it is called, "Be the Sunshine".  It is this month's free with $10.00 purchase...

Until next time, scrap your story, share your heart, and always be kind.

Commons Challenge-Fit Check

This page captures one of my favorite moments from Jessica’s Disney Cruise adventure—a spontaneous fit check selfie that radiates confidence, joy, and ocean-side sparkle. I used a template for the layout but had fun making it my own with the, "Happy" digital scrapbook kit found in the commons over at digitalscrapbook.com One of my favorite creative twists was turning a journal card into a custom frame for her photo—it added the perfect touch of playfulness! I also flipped the arrows on another card to guide the eye just right, and added some stitching for texture and a bit of homemade charm. It’s a little snapshot of sunshine, sass, and scrapbooking joy.

I followed along with the forum challenge, "Commons" at DigitalScrapbook.com, which really helped spark my creativity for this layout.  It's always fun seeing how these challenges stretch my ideas and help me tell stories in new ways!
