What a Strange week-Week 20

Week 20 was packed with everyday moments, surprises, and a few unexpected detours. This week’s layout captures a mix of sweet family time, a bit of medical drama, and some good food along the way. Marissa celebrated her last day of kindergarten, Leo gave his best effort to avoid the camera, and I had a little scare with an allergic reaction that thankfully ended well. Jesse treated me to brunch, and I kept busy with creative projects like a fun Dex card challenge. Even Ramen Noodle got some love with a batch of homemade dog food! Oh, and we discovered we’ve been feeding four orange cats instead of two—surprise! It was a week of ups and downs, but filled with memories worth documenting.

Marisa Lerin's Pocket Templates Kit #3 is an absolute game-changer! The PSD files are so easy to use—she’s done all the hard work by setting up clean, versatile layouts, so all you have to do is drop in your photos, papers, and elements. It’s the perfect blend of structure and creative freedom, letting you focus on adding your own flair without the stress of starting from scratch.

This week I had so much fun diving into the Raindrops & Rainbows bundle by Janet Scott from Pixel Scrapper (digitalscrapbook.com). This cheerful, colorful collection is packed with everything I needed to brighten up my layout—playful elements, whimsical illustrations, vibrant patterned papers, and word art that perfectly captured the mood of spring showers and sunshine. I especially loved pulling the teal and yellow tones from the kit to complement the happy, light-hearted feel of my Week 20 spread. From rainbows and flowers to splashes of color and joy, this bundle added the perfect pop to my project!

I also snuck in a few extra designs...

Dex Card Challenge

Hello, sweet friends!

I was so excited to complete the spotlight challenge at DigitalScrapbook.com as this month it was dex cards.  Whether you're a seasoned memory keeper or just dipping your toes into the world of creative journaling, this challenge is for you.  My project...

I created a vibrant set of Dex cards focused on faith, encouragement, and kindness the themes that are close to my heart. Each card carries a powerful message, rooted in Scripture, like:

  • "Be kind to one another..." (Ephesians 4:32)

  • "Rejoice and be glad..." (Matthew 5:12)

  • "Do not let your heart envy sinners..." (Proverbs 23:17)

I used soft florals, pops of color, and playful textures to bring joy and visual interest to every card. My favorite? Probably the one with “Be Kind” I added a sweet button and a flower embellishment to highlight that verse because, as many of you know, kindness is my life motto!

The "Who I Am in Christ" kit by BibleJournalLove is a bright, uplifting collection celebrating identity and faith. It features 21 diverse illustrated ladies, over 150 beautiful elements, 31 Bible verses, and colorful word art to inspire your journaling or Dex card projects. With florals, birds, banners, and faith-filled affirmations, this kit is perfect for creatively expressing your walk with Christ. This challenge is a chance to get creative, reflect, and share your own heart through these little works of art. Whether you decorate your cards digitally or physically, I hope you'll join me.  Let’s fill our boxes and feeds with color, truth, and encouragement!

This is my faith-based Dex card Rolodex, a heartfelt collection of scripture, encouragement, and truth.  Each card is lovingly crafted with layered digital elements, vibrant florals, and affirmations rooted in God’s Word. I’ve repurposed a classic Rolodex to hold these mini devotionals, turning it into a rotating treasure trove of inspiration.

From powerful verses like “Be Kind…” to joyful reminders of who we are in Christ, this little spinner is my daily dose of grace and creativity. It's not just a project — it’s a growing testimony in paper form.

Let’s spread joy, scripture, and creativity—one Dex card at a time.

Whether you're crafting physical dex cards with scissors and glue or designing them digitally with a few clicks, each one holds the power to encourage, uplift, and inspire. These little cards may be small in size, but they carry big messages—of faith that moves mountains, kindness that ripples outward, and challenges that help us grow. However you choose to create them, may they be a reflection of your heart and a reminder to keep showing up, creating beauty, and spreading love.

Until next time, scrap your story, share your heart, and always be kind.

March 2022 Blog Train Flashback

Welcome aboard the Blog Train Flashback Challenge—where we throw it in reverse faster than a '90s VHS tape rewinding after Flashback: The Movie!  (Yes, I actually enjoyed it-don't judge me.)  This challenge is all about digging through our past digital blog trains, dusting off forgotten gems, and giving them a second chance to shine.  So hop on the flashback challenge train—no acid-wash jeans required (unless you really want to).

My cheerful page for the Blog Train Challenge is bursting with personality and color.  The purples, greens, and pinks blend well with the mix of florals, playful layering, and that charming little bird tucked in the corner, it’s a sweet nod to the March 2022 blog train-and a lovely reminder that some designs are always worth revisiting.

You can locate this particular blog train I used HERE.
You can also search through past blog trains in the
digitalscrapbook.com blog train forum.
A friendly reminder that some of the older blog trains may
no longer have all the kits available.
